A relationship is proposed for the strength of retempered concrete. This relationship is an empirical one and is obtained from an analysis of published data of retempered concrete avilable from experimental studies conducted by a number of researchers. The proposed relationship is an attempt to quantify the effect retempering has on strength, by relating two ratios, i.e. the ratio of the w/c in the concrete after retempering to that before, and the ratio of compressive strength after retempering to that before retempering. A good correlation is obtained for data from the various sources, as well as some results obtained by the authors.
