Efeitos de agentes clareadores na translucidez de materiais restauradores estéticos

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do peróxido de carbamida a 10% sobre a translucidez de três diferentes materiais restauradores estéticos (Z 100, Dyract e Vitalescence). Metade dos corpos-de-prova (cp) ficaram imersos em água sendo que o restante sofreu ação do agente clareador por sete horas diárias durante sete dias. A translucidez foi quantificada pela passagem de luz através dos corpos-de-prova, utilizando-se um fotopolimerizador e um radiômetro, após vinte e quatro horas e sete dias. Os dados obtidos foram submetidos à análise de variância e ao teste Tukey (5%), o qual mostrou aumento significativo na translucidez (mW/cm2) do material Z 100 após aplicação do agente clareador por uma semana (54,2 ± 2,7) comparado ao controle (49,8 ± 3,2) após mesmo período, fato não observado para os outros dois materiais. A resina Vitalescence mostrou ter sua translucidez aumentada após sete dias de aplicação do agente clareador (45 ± 2,4) bem como pela armazenagem em água pelo mesmo período em comparação ao início do clareamento (43,2 ± 2,1). O material Dyract apresentou valores similares nos diferentes tempos de avaliação.
