Depression and Sociological Characteristics among Employees

Abstract

In this paper, the purpose was to identify depression and sociological characteristics including social support as well as associations between the sociological characteristics and depression. The sample consists 175 employees, recruited at four worksites in Korea. A descriptive survey study was conducted by using structured questionnaire and analyzed by using SPSS/WIN 19.0. As the results of study, the mean score of depression was 13.65±8.65 for the employees. The result showed that there were significant correlations between social support and depression(r=-.479, p=<.001). As the conclusion, development of health program for social support improvement are necessary for employees’ psychological health.
