Sul metodo mafioso

Abstract

In un mondo globalizzato, l’incontro tra criminalità organizzata e sistema economico ‘ufficiale’ genera convergenze di interessi a limite della legalità, profilandosi spesso non tanto come il connubio tra entità inconciliabili, ma come l’unione tra due mondi che procedono entrambi al di fuori delle regole. La globalizzazione produce mobilità e competizione; entrambe, spingono verso alleanze che valicano spesso i confini tra lecito e illecito. Per adeguarsi ad uno scenario mutevole ed evitare il controllo sociale istituzionale, i nuovi sistemi criminali si dotano di strutture flessibili e reticolari, i cui metodi e le cui procedure rendono meno visibile il confine tra ciò che è lecito e ciò che non lo è, e rendono più difficile il controllo di legalità. Il degrado della democrazia, legato alla diffusione delle pratiche corruttive, abbassa il costo morale connesso all’ingresso nelle cosiddette aree grigie, e riduce la soglia di percezione della riprovazione morale e della pubblica indignazione. Più viene meno la reazione sociale, più le pratiche di corruzione e di illegalità si diffondono e divengono normali. Il risultato è quello di una prospettiva sempre più problematica per la nostra democrazia.
