The accuracy of a series of casts produced by alginate duplication of an electroplated master cast was compared by clinical observations with that produced by hydrocolloid duplication. Alginate may be used as a duplicating material if temperature, spatulation, water-powder ratio, and pouring intervals are controlled properly.
