A 28-year-old Caucasian man decreased in weight from 210 pounds to 90 pounds in 5 years. He had iron-deficiency anemia and a chronic urinary tract infection. Clinical examination indicated that edentulous residual ridges had resorbed so that the patient’s dentures were too large. After new complete dentures were constructed, the patient gained weight and returned to good health.
