Abstract

The achievement of correct vertical dimension is one of the most neglected steps in the preparation for complete den tures when compared with the highly improved methods of obtaining impres sions, centric relation or articulation. Nevertheless, the procedure to establish vertical dimension is as important as any other; an error in its determination may lead to esthetic and functional failure of the prosthesis and may also be an impor tant factor in alveolar resorption.
