Objetos líticos en contextos rituales de la segunda Edad del Hierro en Menorca (500-123 a. C.): el caso del recinto de taula de Sa Cudia Cremada

Abstract

En este trabajo se da a conocer el instrumental lítico recuperado en un recinto de taula del poblado talayótico de Sa Cudia Cremada (Mahón, Menorca). En dicho espacio ritual, en uso durante la segunda Edad del Hierro, se han recuperado utensilios que corresponden a algunas de las tipologías que se documentan en las estructuras domésticas de la misma cronología, como son los molinos de vaivén y los percutores. Se realizan propuestas relativas al significado de la presencia de dichos objetos en un edificio de carácter sacro, a través de su estudio morfotipológico y de su distribución espacial, y mediante comparaciones con los datos previos referentes a las herramientas líticas en las viviendas. Los resultados respaldan la hipótesis de la existencia de un paralelismo entre espacios religiosos y espacios domésticos. La abundancia de utensilios líticos en un edificio ritual parece reforzar la importancia simbólica de estos elementos, ya propuesta en otros trabajos. Por otro lado, se ha identificado la presencia masiva de pequeños guijarros ante el elemento central del recinto, lo que permite proponer la realización de un ritual no documentado con anterioridad en otros recintos de taula.
