Las fracturas de cadera en el anciano suponen un gran problema sociosanitario en los países desarrollados.Esta tesis aborda el problema tanto desde el punto de vista de la salud (morbimortalidad, pérdida de calidad de vida, etc.), como desde el punto devista económico debido al consumo de recursos, no sólo monetarios, sino también de los denominados costes sociosanitarios (dedicación de la familia, coste de oportunidad, etc.).
