Decisiones de movilidad urbana en la ciudad de Bahía Blanca (Argentina): ¿cómo contribuir con el desarrollo sostenible?

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene por objetivo analizar las decisiones de movilidad urbana en una ciudad media argentina a través de la descripción de los medios de transporte más utilizados por la población y la identificación de los factores influyentes en sus preferencias de movilidad. Metodológicamente se desarrolla una investigación cuantitativa de alcance descriptivo-correlacional con diseño de estudio de caso en la ciudad de Bahía Blanca (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Se recolectan datos primarios mediante un cuestionario en línea a la ciudadanía y se desarrollan análisis descriptivos, bivariados y multivariados. Según los resultados, los medios de transporte más utilizados son: vehículos a combustión privados, movilidad a pie, transporte público (autobús) y bicicleta a pedal. Respecto a los determinantes, la movilidad activa es más elegida por hombres, residentes en el macrocentro, que poseen bicicleta y no automóvil, para viajes cortos no laborales. El autobús es más usado por mujeres, estudiantes, trabajadores y jóvenes que realizan pocos viajes diarios para recorrer mayores distancias. El uso de movilidad privada se incrementa con la edad y es más frecuente en individuos que poseen vehículo a combustión, no tienen bicicleta, gozan de buen nivel económico y realizan pocos viajes diarios a distancias más extensas. Los hallazgos derivados del procesamiento de las respuestas obtenidas del cuestionario permiten delinear políticas que promuevan el desarrollo sostenible en las decisiones de movilidad.
