Abstract

Proponemos nuevos imperativos al momento de reajustar las miradas en torno al mundo del arte latinoamericano, aquellos que desde la academia y los estudios humanistas puedan asumir con mayor justicia las complejidades de este tiempo. Intentamos responder a esta exigencia desde un desplazamiento epistémico e interdisciplinar para el estudio de las prácticas artísticas populares, entendidas generalmente como aquellas que se despliegan en el mundo rural y periféricas a las perspectivas institucionales de lo que se denomina Arte. Para ello, acudiremos a la noción de “conocimiento situado” elaborado por Donna Haraway con el fin de detonar una dimensión reflexiva muchas veces invisibilizada, iluminando un aspecto básico del mundo artístico popular que emana de una doble condición: el de ser principalmente ejecutado por mujeres y la situación geográfica específica en que ellas desarrollan sus oficios. Frente a lo planteado, el Arte Popular de la alfarería de Quinchamalí de Chile emerge como un ejemplo de este modo de conocimiento, al ser desarrollado por las mujeres como resultado del vínculo indisoluble de esta práctica con su paisaje. Desde principios de la Colonia en América, podemos reconocer en ellas una resistencia territorial expresada, por un lado, mediante la perseverancia de los imaginarios moldeados en arcilla negra y, por otro, a través de la transformación de la materia prima en sintonía con las formas de habitar su territorio. Ellas han transmitido por generaciones estos saberes enfrentando los embates que el modelo económico y cultural les han intentado imponer
