L’articolo vuole mettere in luce i debiti contratti da Dante con l’esegesi virgiliana, sia a livello intertestuale, sia ideologico, al fine di chiarire da una parte la natura del complesso rapporto dell’Alighieri con Virgilio, dall’altra la funzione del poeta latino in quanto guida del viaggio ultraterreno complementare a Beatrice.
