Bagni sonori : nuove frontiere del suono immersivo tra cinema e altri media

Abstract

Negli ultimi anni si riscontra sempre più enfasi sull’immersione sonora da parte dell’industria audiovisiva. Di ciò sono segnali evidenti il successo cinematografico del sistema Dolby Atmos – nonché gli investimenti di altre aziende su nuovi sistemi immersivi – e la diffusione di forme audiovisive diverse dal film come alcuni videogiochi e filmati di realtà virtuale che ricorrono in maniera decisa alla spazializzazione acustica. In questo saggio intendo riflettere sulle potenzialità, le analogie e le differenze nell’uso di queste tecnologie nelle loro varie applicazioni, rilevando la presenza di almeno due modelli di costruzione dello spazio sonoro permessi dai sistemi immersivi. Indagherò quindi la questione del realismo, che negli studi sul cinema riemerge prepotentemente pressoché a ogni introduzione di nuovi sistemi sonori.
