Abstract

Il lavoro delinea la vicenda, finora pressoché sconosciuta, dello sviluppo degli studi giuridici a Trieste dai primi limitati corsi della Scuola Revoltella nell'Ottocento, a quelli più ampi dell'Istituto di studi commerciali nel primo dopoguerra, alla creazione, della Facoltà di giurisprudenza nel 1938. Sulla base di documentazione soprattutto archivistica, vengono esaminati gli aspetti organizzativi, i corsi e le attività scientifiche dei docenti mettendo in luce lo stretto legame tra il regime fascista e alcune figure di eminenti giuristi del tempo a partire dal rettore Manlio Udina. Vengono poi illustrati i cambiamenti negli anni della guerra e le problematiche vicende del secondo dopoguerra soffermandosi in particolare sull'azione di Salvatore Satta nell'ambito della commissione di epurazione e sull'importante ruolo di Angelo Ermanno Cammarata nella salvaguardia della sovranità italiana su Trieste.
