The article discusses the use of trams as places and objects with symbolic meaning; trams as metaphorical vehicle for discussion of problems and situations that arise in Modernity, from the fear of sickness, negative attitudes of visceral rejection or acceptance innocent and naive of the urban experience; as a way to summarize the contradiction between what is random and systematic characteristic of city life.
