The new forms of political participation can be understood focusing on the enlargement of the repertoire of political actions to phenomena, such as the critical consumerism, in which there is an engagement by the individual in direction of a collective responsibility. In fact, the search for forms of political participation 'other' than the traditional ones, can be focused on values, behaviors and practices related to the dimension of everyday life and, more specifically, on the topic of consumption. These issues seem to be able to open new areas of political commitment. The chapter analyzes the forms of political consumerism, highlighting the main theoretical and conceptual interpretations and in particular the key question related to the dimension of individual/collective political participation.
