A patient with tracheal laceration due to over inflation and rupture of the cuff of endotracheal tube is reported. The patient was operated within 24 hours with excellent results. Examination three years after reveals only a megatrachea. The importance of prompt diagnosis and treatment as the only way to obtain survival with no complication is stressed.
