SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION Four patients who underwent emergency coronary endarterectomy for acute myocardial infarction are reported. One patient was resuscitated and restored to normal cardiac rhythm for 52 hours. The potential, technique, and indications for this type of procedure in the treatment of coronary heart disease are reviewed.
