Actively Steerable Integrated Optical Phased Array (OPA) for Optical Wireless Communication (OWC)

Abstract

We propose and demonstrate an actively-controlled optical-beam-steering optical-wireless-communication (OWC) system using an integrated optical-phased-array (OPA). We numerically and experimentally evaluate field-of-view (FOV), beam divergence angle and bit-error-rate (BER) performance of the emitted optical signal.
