Realizing Large Effective Area Fibers

Abstract

Performances of state-of-the-art large-A eff single-core fibers are presented. We explain how trench-assisted step-index structures allow to reach A eff up to 160μm2 with 125μm glass diameter. Extension to larger A eff is also discussed.
