Abstract

SUMMARY: Как трансформировались межэтнические отношения от Российской империи к советской государственности? В статье Мэйхил Фоулер рассматривается особо проблематичный вариант этих отношений: взаимодействие украинцев и евреев в рамках истории идишского театра в советской Украине. Традиционно украинско-еврейские отношения рассматривались через призму насилия; в последнее время заявила о себе новая тенденция, которая идеализирует эти отношения. Отказываясь от однозначности как первой, так и второй позиции, автор статьи подвергает подробному и глубокому анализу радикальную динамику еврейско-украинских контактов, которые трансформировались в свете новой гегемонистской культурной категории – “советская украинская культура”. Статья непосредственно посвящена усилиям советских чиновников от культуры по инкорпорированию идишского культурного пласта в советско-украинский контекст. Автор делает вывод, что советские методы этнизации искусства приводили к исчезновению культурной гетерогенности, ранее свойственной региону, и снижали возможности для творческих инноваций.
