La comedia burlesca del Siglo de Oro o las máscaras del Carnaval

Abstract

n la actualidad, el Grupo de Investigacion Siglo de Oro (GRISO) de la Universidad de Navarra, bajo la direccion de Ignacio Arellano, desarrolla un proyecto consistente en la edicion del corpus completo de las comedias burlescas auriseculares. Gracias a este trabajo contamos ahora con mas de una treintena de ediciones modernas—criticas y anotadas—de estas divertidas piezas dramaticas, cuya representacion estaba ligada a la celebracion cortesana de las fiestas carnavalescas; unas piezas, tambien, que resultan sumamente interesantes porque nos muestran el enves, el otro lado del tapiz—por asi decir— de la dramaturgia “seria” aurisecular. Esta labor en marcha de edicion de textos constituye una fase primera necesaria para poder abordar con garantias, posteriormente, un estudio global—que a dia de hoy sigue faltando—sobre los temas, estructuras, recursos y procedimientos comicos de la comedia burlesca. En trabajos anteriores, ademas de analizar la jocosidad disparatada de varias de estas obras, he considerado de forma monografica algunos temas relacionados con ellas. En esta ocasion pretendo ahondar en su caracter especificamente carnavalesco, rastreando la presencia de mascaras, disfraces y juegos de identidad.
