Abstract

La presente tesis hace un estudio analítico de las Web de 13 museos de la ciudad de Quito, capital del Ecuador, de manera cualitativa y cuantitativa, con la finalidad de establecer la situación real de la comunicación digital en el entorno patrimonial. Mediante la aplicación de una ficha homologada para medir parámetros de arquitectura de la información, los datos obtenidos se contrastaron con una encuesta realizada a los administradores de los espacios virtuales, con la finalidad de conocer lo que sucede en la realidad y lo que piensan acerca de la cibercultura y la comunicación digital de los museos. Para el análisis e interpretación de los datos, se utilizó el esquema desarrollado por Jesús Martín-Barbero en De los medios a las mediaciones (1998) y se complementó con la Teoría de la Mediación Social (Martín Serrano, 2008). De esta manera, se comprende al hecho comunicacional digital como un sistema que crea narrativas, orientado a reproducir la ideología institucional. Este estudio se complementa con la realización de entrevistas a cuatro expertos internacionales en temas de patrimonio y comunicación digital. Sus respuestas se contrastareon con la información obtenida a los administradores de tres los espacios Web, tomados como estudios de caso.
