Doğu Lykaonia dan Yeni Hristiyanlık Dönemi Yazıtları

Abstract

In this study, inscriptions belonging to the transition period to Christianity in the eastern part of the Lykaonia Region are discussed. Three of these inscriptions belong to the ancient city of Savatra, where the Yağlıbayat District is located. In addition other inscriptions were found in the İpekler District, close to the ancient city of Perta, and in the settlement near the Zulmanda Khan in the south of Altınekin district. Inscription Nr. 1 in Savatra is the tombstone of a person named Anatolios. The inscription is complemented by a histogram. The inscription Nr. 2 is in the form of a rectangular block and includes alpha and omega letters in Greek, which means the eternal aspect of God. Inscription Nr. 3 was found in the Yağlıbayat cemetery and is broken. In the readable part, a bishop is mentioned. The inscription Nr. 4 reveals the belief analysis of a priest named Polyeuktos, who rose to the degree of sainthood. The last inscription was found on a farm near Zulmanda Han. In this inscription we mention a preacher named Patricius blessing the church here.
