Flora da Bahia

Abstract

O Projeto Flora da Bahia foi iniciado em 1997 nos moldes previstos pela Sociedade de Botânica do Brasil para a atualização da Flora do Brasil. É o produto de vários anos de coleta e identificação de espécimes do Estado da Bahia e reflete o esforço conjunto de várias instituições e pesquisadores. A flora será publicada nos níveis de família ou gênero(s) através de trabalhos independentes na revista Sitientibus série Ciências Biológicas, seguindo o padrão estabelecido. Paralelamente, continua ativo o programa de coleta visando ampliar o número de coleções do Estado, focando principalmente as áreas mal amostradas, a formação de novos taxonomistas e projetos para o melhor conhecimento, utilização e conservação da flora.
