Abstract

É apresentado o levantamento das espécies de Virola Aubl. (Myristicaceae) ocorrentes no Estado da Bahia. Reconhece-se cinco espécies, nenhuma delas endêmicas no Estado. Na Mata Atlântica Sul-baiana, ocorrem V. bicuhyba (Schott ex Spreng.) Warb, V. gardneri (A. DC.) Warb. e V. officinalis Warb., e no cerrado são registradas duas espécies típicas desse bioma: V. subsessilis. (Benth.) Warb. e V. urbaniana Warb., esta última assinalada pela primeira vez na Bahia. Incluem-se descrições, ilustrações, comentários gerais e uma chave de identificação das espécies.
