I started doing research when I was a sophomore at Augusta State University. My first project dealt with the physics of scuba diving. Later, I became interested in the applications of artificial intelligence and computer-aided diagnosis to medicine. When I enrolled at UMBC, I joined Dr. Chein-I Chang's Remote Sensing, Signal and Image Processing Laboratory. I am majoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. This research project allowed me to apply my knowledge of mathematics and computer science to a practical problem that has the potential to save lives.
