Abstract

Bar codes are increasingly present in everyday life. The United States Postal Service (USPS) has developed a bar code, POSTNET, to represent the numbers of an address's ZIP code. Mail with these bar codes receive reduced postal rates as well as faster and more acurate delivery. County Cooperative Extension offices generate a massive amount of third-class bulk mail.
