Abstract

Oral health promotion is becoming an integral part of dentistry. Learning how to promote good oral health, educate and help patientsmaintain their oral health will help dental nurses in their role as registered health professionals. National Smile Month, organized by the British Dental Health Foundation (BDHF), is traditionally the biggest annual oral health campaign in the UK calendar. The 2008 National Smile Month campaign is set to run from 18 May to 17 June and preparations are now underway.
