Abstract

The number of nurse specialists and nurse practitioners is increasing and all nurses are delivering more invasive medical and therapeutic interventions. As independent professionals acting on their own initiative, it is inevitable that specialist nurses will become more involved in clinical negligence actions. These actions will deal with alleged negligence in the context of obtaining consent and acts and omissions in practice.
