Abstract

Despite the bounty of the Chancellor’s 2002/2003 budget and the billions of pounds heading for the health service, there is still a long way to go before a final settlement is reached on a new structure for nurses’ pay and conditions. We can only hope that when it arrives it lives up to expectations.
