Restauração de casco em jabuti-tinga (Chelonoidis denticulata)

Abstract

Dentro da rotina clínica veterinária de animais silvestres, no que se refere aos quelônios, é frequente o atendimento de casos de fratura de carapaça e de plastrão em decorrência de atropelamento, esmagamento, quedas e acidentes com animais domésticos. A literatura técnica apresenta diferentes materiais para correção de fraturas de casco como a resina de epóxi, acrílicos dentais, fita de acetato de celulose associado ao adesivo tecidual cianoacrilato, cintas plásticas, fibras de vidro e fios de sutura fixados a furos no casco ou parafusos. Contudo, há poucos relatos disponíveis sobre a utilização destes métodos na rotina prática. Assim, o presente relato teve como objetivo descrever a restauração de casco em um jabuti-tinga (Chelonoidis denticulata) utilizando resina epóxi, bem como o tratamento clínico antimicrobiano e antiinflamatório necessário previamente à restauração
