A POESIA BRASILEIRA DO FIM DO SÉCULO XIX E DA BELLE ÉPOQUE: PARNASIANISMO, DECADENTISMO E SIMBOLISMO

Abstract

A poesia brasileira do final do seculo XIX e comeco do seculoXX, com raras excecoes, costuma ser desvalorizada pela critica,afeita a praticas literarias que consagram a tematizacao do nacional edos problemas sociais como criterios legitimadores do texto. Assim,os poetas do Parnasianismo e do Simbolismo recebem a pecha de nefelibatase alienados, preteridos varias vezes em prol dos modernistas,que, em seu movimento dessacralizador, operaram um verdadeiro“bota-abaixo” das poeticas predecessoras. Parnasianos e simbolistas,contudo, professam a cartilha estetica delineada por CharlesBaudelaire (1821-1867), poeta frances que nao so os influenciou,como tambem ao proprio Modernismo e a relativamente desconhecidapoetica finissecular do Decadentismo, que, por sua vez, insinua-see deixa-se entrever na obra de um Olavo Bilac e de um Cruz e Souza,ao propor para a literatura a dupla clave do esteticismo e datransgressao.
