Abstract

RECEBIDO EM 07 JUL 2016 APROVADO EM 01 OUT 2016 Na coletânea de contos Les Diaboliques (1874), Barbey D’Aurevilly constroi suas personagens femininas com tracos que podemos remeter a estetica realista-naturalista. Entretanto, a fisionomia descrita em seus detalhes fisicos e morais nao representa ou tampouco simboliza seu “estado de alma” nem seu “carater”. O autor nos fornece imagens falsas, que nos conduzem a ambiguidade; a caracterizacao deforma, mascara, induz ao erro, ao inves de “revelar” e confirmar uma suposta hereditariedade ou uma esperada "vocacao”, pressuposto da estetica naturalista. O estudo levara em conta essa maneira particular de figuracao da personagem feminina, com enfoque particular da personagem Albertine, figura central do conto “A cortina encarnada”, e eixo em torno do qual o relato se estrutura, examinando seu efeito de leitura. // Dans son recueil de contes Les Diaboliques (1874), Barbey D’Aurevilly bâtit ses personnages feminins avec des traits que l’on pourrait renvoyer a l’esthetique realiste-naturaliste. Neanmoins, la physionomie peinte en ses details physiques et moraux ne represente ni symbolise non plus son “etat d’âme” ni son vrai “caractere". L’auteur nous livre des images fausses qui nous menent a une ambiguite; la caracterisation deforme, masque, induit a des erreurs au lieu de “reveler” et de confirmer un soi-disant heritage ou encore une vocation previsible, selon le protocole naturaliste. Cette etude prendra en compte ce mode particulier de figuration du personnage feminin, en mettant l’accent sur le personnage Albertine, protagoniste du conte “Le rideau cramoisi”, et axe autour duquel se structure le recit, pour en examiner l’effet de lecture.
