</script>The observation by Dr. Morgan and his colleagues (1985) of a longer effective half-life for SeHCAT in immature rats is interesting, but one needs to know in particular the exact age of the rats at the time of administration of SeHCAT, the number of measurements made subsequently and the distribution of the retained radioactivity. There are a number of important differences in the metabolism of bile acid between rat and man, and extrapolation between one and the other should be made with extreme caution.
