Abstract Cellulose acetate supported stigmasterol liquid surfactant membrane has been characterized by measuring membrane potentials, using NaCl solutions of different concentrations. Fixed charge density, φ\barX, permselectivity, Ps, have been estimated from ionic transport numbers. Variation of membrane potential with pH and concentration of NaCl solution has also been examined.
