Abstract A series of aryl hydrazonates has been prepared in excellent yield (>90%) by phase-transfercatalysis technique from the corresponding phenol and hydrazonoyl bromides in dichloromethane in the presence of tetrabutylammonium iodide. 1,2-Diacyl derivatives of arylhydrazines were also prepared by the same technique using carboxylic acids in place of phenols.
