Abstract: Biomimetic materials processing (BMMP) is defined as the design and synthesis of new functional materials by refining knowledge and understanding of related biological products, structures, functions, and processes. By using BMMP, we can make a new nanotechnology, which is named “biomimetic nanotechnology.” This is based on lessons from nature, becomes important for industries from the viewpoint of its applications, and closely relates to “converging technologies.” The concept and applications of this biomimetic nanotechnology are described in this article.
