</script>When I started my term as editor, I jumped on a band wagon. My predecessors Chris Liner, Gerard Herman, Gerard Schuster, and Yonghe Sun, with the professional support of the SEG publications staff, introduced the electronic review system, cleared the backlog, and trimmed the turnaround time to 8.5 months (from submission to online publication). Moreover, they established a very strong editorial team. I feel very fortunate to have worked the past two years with this very enthusiastic group of associate and assistant editors, the SEG publications staff, and the many guest editors who took responsibility for the special sections and supplements. In particular, I would like to mention the excellent work of assistant editor Tamas Nemeth as coordinator of the special sections and supplements.
