
In 1972 René Dubos, scientist, philosopher and advisor to the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment, counseled us to “think globally, act locally” when addressing environmental problems. “Think globally, act locally” soon became a mantra for politicians, who realized that they needed to focus on the immediate needs and concerns of their constituents in order to remain in office. Could this approach hold a clue for SEG?
