The author in this article explores thinking on witnessing or bearing witness from the theoretical perspectives of nursing, philosophy, Christian theology, and journalism. Although there are nuances in the meanings of witnessing and the actions involved in witnessing, all of the identified disciplines discussed the responsibility they have for bearing witness to the other.
