The importance of multinational corporations (MNCs) in the world trade, foreign direct investment, and transfer of technology is well documented. In recent year, many governments, especially those in the Third World, have been re-examining their policies towards MNCs whose economic and political power often come in the way of national development. Four recently published books on this sensitive subject are reviewed in this article.
