
Spegazzinia affinis sp. nov. collected on dead leaves of sugarcane from Cuba is described and illustrated. It is characterized by lobed and echinulate, brown to mid brown type "b" conidia. Its differences and affinities with S. flabellata, S. sundara and S. tessarthra are discussed and a key to known species of the genus is provided.
