
Hace unos diez anos Harold Bloom escribio que la literatura hispanoamericana del siglo XX tenia tres fundadores: Jorge Luis Borges, Pablo Neruda y Alejo Carpentier (1904 – 1980). Con motivo del centenario de Carpentier, este numero de homenaje reune nueve trabajos originales redactados por destacados especialistas, varios de ellos autores o editores de libros hitos sobre el maestro cubano. A su manera y desde ambas orillas de esa Mar Oceana que no pararon de cruzar los protagonistas creados por Carpentier, los nueve autores repiten que no han caido en el vacio las palabras don Alejo.
