Evolução do consumismo ao consumo consciente

Abstract

O consumo consciente surge como uma resposta à transformação social, econômica e cultural iniciada no período da Revolução Industrial. Esse conceito envolve produzir e consumir de forma responsável, considerando a origem, composição, embalagem e destinação final dos produtos. Por décadas, a influência da alta demanda de produção e consumo, aliada a facilitação para adquirir produtos com o uso do crédito e influência da propaganda, moldou o comportamento dos consumidores, impulsionando o consumo desenfreado. Esse cenário deu origem ao chamado "Sonho Americano" que posteriormente culminou na era do consumismo, marcada pela obsolescência programada. No início do século XXI, o Processo de Marrakesh destacou a importância de fortalecer e aplicar o conceito de produção e consumo consciente. O presente estudo teve como objetivo fazer entender a necessidade da criação do consumo consciente e convidar o maior número de interessados possível a incorporação em seus hábitos os conceitos para diminuir drasticamente o uso de plástico, apoiar empresas socio ambientalmente responsáveis, adquirir equilíbrio entre a satisfação pessoal com o ambientalmente correto, socialmente justo e economicamente viável e priorizar alimentos sem agrotóxicos produzidos o mais próximo possível de onde estiver sempre que possível.
