The macular arterial nutrition is represented by the short posterior choroidal arteries and by the recurrent posterior arteries. The multiplicity of sources and the frequency of anastomoses make the possibility of a choroidal segmentation at the posterior pole difficult to believe. The Central choriocapillary does not have any specific character. The existence of lobular circulatory unities seems as hypothetical as it does at the level of other choroidal territories. Moreover, if preferential drainage towards the superior and inferior temporal venous junctions exists, the existence of venous anastomoses and 'vortex bridges' should make one reject the idea of anatomical and physiological venous quadrantal segmentation.
