A psychosomatic process affects the individual in every aspect of his existence: social, psychic and biological. It is, therefore, extremely difficult to outline with strict precision a methodological technique that may be appropriate to psychosomatic research. We have considered it appropriate to differentiate methods according to the possible directions the research may follow: etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, therapy of psychosomatic disorders.
