Abstract

Pięć lat po premierze anglojęzycznego oryginału „Women, Communism and Industrialization in Postwar Poland" nakładem wydawnictwa WAB ukazało się jego tłumaczenie na język polski w przekładzie Marii Jaszczurowskiej. W 2016 r. książka Małgorzaty Fidelis znalazła się wśród dziesięciu tytułów, nominowanych do Nagrody Historycznej im. K. Moczarskiego za 2016 r. Jest jedną z trzech książek na tej liście, które są tłumaczeniami publikacji dotyczących wojennej lub bezpośrednio powojennej historii Polski. (Dwa pozostałe to: „Czarna ziemia. Holocaust jako ostrzeżenie", Timothy Snyder, przeł. Bartłomiej Pietrzyk, Znak, Kraków i „Budowanie Polski Ludowej. Robotnicy a komuniści 1945–1950", Padraic Kenney, przeł. Anna Dzierzgowska, W.A.B., Warszawa.). Po intensywnie komentowanych pracach Marcina Zaremby i Andrzeja Ledera to kolejny dowód na niegasnące zainteresowanie rynku książkowego w Polsce publikacjami o początkowym okresie PRL.
