Abstract

This article reviews the uses of phosphors that continue to be the central component of an increasing number of functional devices such as fluorescent lamps, flat panel displays, and electroluminescent display panels. There are a number of many useful references one might consult for general background on phosphors and on the existing commercial functional devices incorporating luminescent materials.
