A photoluminescence study of CdSe films grown by the chemical bath deposition method is reported in this paper. The films analyzed were deposited on glass substrates having different stoichiometry and thermal treatments. These parameters have a strong influence on the photoluminescence spectra of the films. Lines with higher energetic positions are observed in nearly stoichiometric films. The lines on the emission spectra of thermally treated films are grouped in an interval of 1.634-1.778 eV, while the untreated samples show no emission in this region. Some of the treated films show emission lines attributed to Se vacancies and Cl impurities on the films.
